Effectiveness of the Overtaking Ban for Heavy Vehicles on the Four-Lane Divided Highway in Different Weather Conditions

In many European countries and also in Slovenia, the highway network was rapidly built order to reduce congestion increase level of traffic safety on congested sections road network, thus enabling a higher service accelerating polycentric development. Unfortunately, demand is growing over all limits, be it tourist car or transit-heavy vehicle traffic. Thus, are forced actively manage freight traffic, which present year round. Accordingly, permanent timed restrictions were introduced for trucks regarding overtaking highways. Overtaking prohibited during day but allowed change lanes at night. It should noted, however, that there may circumstances can restrict normal travel heavy vehicles one way another, whether night day. We would like convince managers weather-responsive adaptive control could more efficient when weather conditions considered. This article presents an approach simulate flow short section two-lane unidirectional carriageway under various conditions.
